Recently I notice that a better thesis does not necessarily address or prove a difficult and complex topic ,but they always propose a profound result. So i think the real scientific literacy is the capability that enable us to find something hidden, which named “insight”.
The insignt is not having a bee in one’s head or observe something with no plan and knowledge. It means that we can find something from existing finds. It’s could be a moment while we are studing or thinking something. We could have ideas “Oh,what if is this changed?/I think this could be better.” These ideas might lack some compelling evidence and is too easy to persuade ourselves to think this is a good idea,we just think this for no reason. This need us having enough knowledge. And our brain will process this knowledge in subconsciousness. When our brain connected the new knowledge which we are studing right now with the old knowledge we have understood, something awesome comes up.
This is not enough to only have the insignt beacuse our science is not built on instinct. We need a precise proof to prove it is right or wrong. So we start to do experiment, collecting the data,do some derivation and get the final results. As above i said, the insight and the proof is indispensable. We use the logic tools to revise our insight continuous.I think this is the scientific literacy.
